Chicago Skyline at Night

Wednesday, September 18 – Monday, September 23, 2019

The Chicago theater experience is just a few weeks away and all has fallen into place perfectly! Once again we will spend 5 days in the theater mecca of the Midwest staying at the deluxe Chicago Staypineapple Iconic Hotel located in the heart of the theater district.  We can walk to the Magnificent Mile, the Art Institute and Millennium Park, to name just a few of the sights. So much to do in this fabulous city…and we will try to do it all.

Aurora Theatre Company is sponsoring this tour and Josh Costello, the new artistic director, will be our artistic guide. Here is what we will be seeing on tour!

Chicago Shakespeare Theatre: The King’s Speech adapted by David Seidler
Steppenwolf Theatre: The Great Leap by Lauren Yea (alternative performance of Dana H. by Luca Hnath)
Victory Gardens Theatre: Tiny Beautiful Things by Nia Vardalos
Goodman Theatre: Bernheart Hamlet by Theresa Rebeck
American Blues Theatre: Five Presidents by Rick Cleveland

We will be dining at four lovely restaurants, The Atwood, Catch 35, The Riva Crabhouse and The Willow Room. On our food tour we will eat all the well-known Chicago treats – pizza, of course, the Chicago hot dog, Fanny Farmer candy, and more! We will be cruising down the river on an architectural boat tour and meeting actors from Tiny Beautiful Things and a panel of young artists trying to “make it” in Chicago.

Hope this tour will be an Aurora Theatre Company tradition and you will be able to join us next year!
